Responsibilities

Lead hands-on UI art creation, including visual concepts, motion mock-ups, and in-engine implementation.

Requirements

Extensive experience in UI/UX design for video games, including at least one shipped title in a leadership or lead artist capacity.
Expert-level proficiency with Unreal Editor, including a thorough understanding of its UI/UX tools, workflows, and implementation techniques.
Strong technical foundation, with proficiency in design and art tools such as Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects), Figma, Motion Graphics tools, and familiarity with source control systems and UI scripting workflows.
Exceptional artistic and design sensibilities, demonstrated through a portfolio that highlights a diverse range of UI work and meticulous attention to detail.
Proven leadership and mentoring skills, with a track record of empowering teams to reach and exceed creative goals.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities, capable of aligning creative direction across disciplines and articulating feedback clearly and constructively.

As our new Senior Graphics Programmer here at Build A Rocket Boy you will help develop state of the art visuals for our existing and upcoming games. You will work closely with multiple departments to implement, maintain, and optimize engine and rendering features.

You are a self-starter, can deliver work on time, and work well in a team of programmers, artists, and designers.

Deliver high quality and high-performance rendering systems using appropriate levels of abstraction, data structures and algorithms inside the Unreal Engine 5 codebase.
Investigate and improve performance and memory usage across all platforms (PC, consoles).
Monitor performance and stability data from our games and use this to adapt Unreal Engine for our use-cases.
Test, document, and maintain the code systems you implement.
Prioritize, plan and manage the time of assigned tasks with oversight.
Communicate clearly with other team members with minimal external help.
Collaborate with other teams to deliver new features and to solve complex technical problems.
Be vigilant for and report new problems, delays and risks to the appropriate Lead/Director.

Extensive C++ and graphics programming experience. Ability to code, architect and debug core systems and utilise multi-threaded programming techniques.
Proficient in shader languages (HLSL, GLSL, CG, etc.)
Solid understanding of modern GPU architecture and pipelines
Experience with at least one modern graphics APIs (DirectX, Vulkan, console APIs, etc.). Preferably DirectX 12.
Experience profiling and optimizing graphics systems and shaders in a large codebase.
At least 4 years of experience working as a graphics engineer on multi-platform games for PC and consoles.

Bonus

Experience working with Unreal Engine
Experience with PS5 and Xbox Series consoles
